Virtue is the Virtual Learning Environment which supported teaching and learning at the former 'English Subject Centre'.

The English Subject Centre operated as one of 24 Subject Centres within the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom and it supported the teaching of English Literature, Language and Creative Writing in UK Higher Education. It was closed down in July 2011.

Virtue, however, lives on! The VLE contains courses which supported the work of the Subject Centre including our very popular Early career lecturers event and our new OER resources for the professional development of teachers - called The Pool. There is more information about The Pool on the project page. Visitors can create an account and access the resources easily by following the instruction detailed on that page.
