In our August 2001 Newsletter the Subject Centre invited English Departments to bid for funding for projects concerned with developments in teaching and learning.
Departments proved eager to accept the invitation, and we received 21 bids by the October deadline. Bids covered a broad range of topics, although student writing skills were a prominent theme.
At the time of writing, 8 bids have been approved, and we are currently finalising approval of a further 10 bids. The 8 bids which are underway are:
