The Production of University English (Keele): This project contributed to teaching expertise and to knowledge about the social construction of English by investigating the ways in which the subject is produced in day-to-day teaching situations in diverse types of university. Implications and Diasporas: English Studies in Scotland’s higher education institutions: This project will engage with immigrant, non-white and minority groups who are studying English at Scottish universities, in order to uncover and assess their concerns and experiences. The project will involve a series of discussions, media-related projects and workshops, together with the subsequent analysis of these activities. The research and data collected will enable teachers of English in the UK to perceive, pre-empt and try to resolve tensions produced by racial and religious difference.
