Enhancing Careers Services for English Students - 08/09 (Various HEIs)
The English Subject Centre is sponsoring another round of small projects in Careers Services which tailor materials or events specifically to the needs of English students.

The value of literary analysis to City financial institutions (Bangor)
This project asked a small sample of English graduates now in merchant banking, stockbroking, pension fund management, and accountancy three principal questions: whether and how the study of English had increased their efficiency, what they thought creativity was in their profession, and how English academics might be of use in extending their business or providing training.

Learning on the Language-Literature Border: Ways of integrating language and literature within final year modules (Central Lancashire)
The primary purpose of this project was examine a variety of methods for integrating language and literature within final year modules. A secondary purpose was to evaluate assessment methods that enable final year undergraduates undertaking a Language and Literature programme to reflect on their educational and intellectual experiences of both subjects and to consider their subject, generic and employability skills in a meaningful way.

Student Employability Profiles for English (English Subject Centre)
This project took skills listed in the Benchmark Statement and mapped them to those typically sought by employers so that students are better equipped to demonstrate their skills in a language helpful to employers. A template and supporting documentation are provided.
