Some previous IT initiatives in the department

Over the years, individual colleagues have developed various resources -- Mrs Ann Squires (now retired) pioneered early editing hypertext software in her Old English modules; and Professor Tim Clark, most notably, had trialled hypertext exercises in his Dickens module, established networked hypertext sites for the Literary Theory and short story modules (both highly valued by our students), and founded an online postgraduate journal. Unfortunately for our project, Professor Clark's leave on research fellowships meant that we could not avail ourselves of his expertise.

Simon James and Pam Knights on the project team had already put basic web-sites in place for the Fin de Siècle and Children's Fiction modules. Simon transferred all his links and book-lists to duo; the Children's Fiction site remains online, though suffers neglect because of time devoted to duo.
